The Turing Test, proposed by Alan Turing in 1950, is a test of a machine's ability to exhibit intelligent behavior equivalent to, or indistinguishable from, that of a human. The test involves a human evaluator engaging in natural language conversations with a human and a machine, without knowing which is which. If the evaluator cannot reliably distinguish the machine from the human, the machine is said to have passed the Turing Test. Example: A chatbot that can convincingly hold a conversation on a wide range of topics without revealing its machine nature could be considered to have passed the Turing Test.
