You can get clients in freelancing too but it's better to tieup with an agency first, this helps you in building your portfolio.

It's to hard now to get a client

i was freelancer for past 1.5+ year . its hard to find clients on upwork and freelancer.com but for continuously bidding for 4 month i got two clients from both paltform. then i shifted to LinkedIn and started approaching clients through dm. and that really works.

Word of mouth is ultimate,no marketing can or will give you the results, It will bring leads, but sustaining is upto you
