YouTube Music has a market share of 8.9% in the music streaming industry. This is due to the company's relatively new arrival to the streaming scene, but also its rapid growth and over 80 million paid subscribers. In 2023, YouTube Music's annual revenue exceeded $3.5 billion. To compare with spotify, they now have around 8bn euros in revenue, from premium users rest from ads. They have a huge freemium userbase, to take that and compare with YouTube’s free music users would be significantly HUGE. There’s no comparison.
