Product based or service based which one is more growth potential?

Which would be better?? A service based or a product based tech startup?

If I have a product which I can use it for advertising other companies service or goods but how do I find my client who can give me marketing projects.

It is advised in business that " differentiate first your product or service and then scale later". Because after scaling if we want to differentiate then it is tough and if we scale without differentiation then there is lot of cashburn required.
