If you arw investing for atleast 10 years then you can follow this
1) 50% nifty 50
2) 25% nifty mid cap
3) 25% nifty small cap
You can adjust the % according to your risk and age, but un a 10 year horizon, even small and midcal would give good returns
If retail investors invest their money in small cap and mid cap mutual funds excluding penny stocks they can still get returns higher than Nifty 50 or Nifty 500 the sooner individual investors realise this the better it will be for them
