I hope that you are good at college level algebra, probability and calculus. It you are not good at these topics from maths then learn them first. After that if you want to learn general artificial intelligence. Then pick a course from udacity or udemy about general artificial intelligence. Complete the course with coding assignments. Then pick a topic for your project and do that on your own.
