In the US specifically, apple pay is super popular where you can pay others by tapping your card/phone on other peoples phone. It’s even more convenient than UPI I guess. So they don’t need an inferior system.

Because they don't have Adhar like biometric identification system. In other countries it's extremely difficult to implement the adhar because of privacy system and many more.

France has started UPI payments on Eiffel Tower and the Indian govt allowed UPI transactions to Singapore residents from India. I think India will help many countries adopt this technology.

Many countries have started their efforts in this direction and will soon. have UPI like services in their own country.

Many countries are now asking India to lend their UPI tech to them. UPI will truly bring Indian tech on the global map.

It’s need based. While in countries with high population density UPI makes sense, in others it’s not really required. And they have pretty good alternatives. Cashapp is popular in the US.

It’s very hard to integrate such a massive change with large banks at scale for any nation.
