I open Netflix. Scroll for 10 minutes. Go to Google and search 10 minutes there trying to find what to watch on Netflix. I get tired and leave.

An average user spends more than 25 minutes binge scrolling on Netflix. Netflix is trying to introduce solutions for this by recommending what to watch and there are infact Telegram groups and Whatsapp groups which recommend what to watch with insights and facts and reasons as in to why you should watch that. They have 1000s of users.

I found some interesting facts- 79.2% of users put Netflix on without knowing what to watch. 92.2% of users look for movies depending on their mood. 66.2% of users prefer a movie to be rated using a star rating system. 67.5% of users say they trust the ratings of other users.

I just realised I have watched like maybe just one movie in the entire month. Youtube consumption is way more.

Happens to me too. I sometimes feel I am wasting Rs. 649 per month for nothing. I mostly end up watching the old shows I like eg- Friends.

I have a good method for solving this. One of the weekends sit at home and free up your mind in order to create a list of what you want and categorize according to mood. Comedy, Thriller etc etc. Then list out 4 shows that you definitely want to watch and start watching 2 episodes everyday or 1 depending on how much time you have. This way you don't give yourself enough time to scroll and you have a fixed intention of going to Netflix!
