X Withholds Some Posts On Election Commission's Directions

Twitter, owned by Elon Musk, has complied with takedown orders from the Election Commission of India (ECI), but expressed disagreement with the action. The orders required the social media platform to remove posts violating the Model Code of Conduct, related to political speech by elected politicians, political parties, and candidates. Twitter has informed impacted users and published the takedown orders for transparency. They have also urged the Election Commission to make all takedown orders public in the future. This is not the first time Twitter has faced conflicts with Indian authorities over content censorship.
