Samsung has announced a strategic collaboration with Arm to develop the next generation Arm Cortex-X CPU. The partnership aims to optimize the CPU on Samsung Foundry's latest Gate-All-Around process technology, potentially paving the way for innovative advancements in data centers, infrastructure custom silicon, and mobile computing. This collaboration signifies a significant step towards Arm potentially manufacturing its own chips. The partnership will initially focus on optimizing Cortex-A and Cortex-X general-purpose CPU cores for Samsung's next-generation 2nm-class process technology. Customers will be able to license Samsung 2nm-optimized versions of these cores, streamlining the development process.
