Arunangshu Sarkar has been appointed as the Director for new energy, petrochemicals, and corporate affairs at the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). Sarkar, a petroleum engineer and an insider at ONGC, was previously the Group General Manager (Production) and General Manager (Strategy and Corporate Planning) at ONGC Videsh. The appointment is part of the board's efforts to revamp the company. The new position of Director (Strategy & Corporate Affairs) will be responsible for joint ventures, downstream petrochemicals, new energy, corporate strategy, corporate marketing, and legal matters, among others.
