WhatsApp tests AirDrop-like feature for data sharing: All you need to know

WhatsApp is working on a new feature for iOS devices that will enable users to share files without an internet connection, similar to Apple's AirDrop. This feature is currently being tested in the WhatsApp beta for iOS version 24.15.10.70, allowing users to send videos, photos, documents, and more directly to nearby devices through a generated QR code. The capability is expected to support cross-platform sharing between Android and iOS devices. Additionally, WhatsApp is also experimenting with an in-app translation feature, using on-device translation to ensure data privacy.
