Previously restricted by a structure that minimized taxes but limited their ability to buy or sell, those restrictions have now been lifted. Despite speculation of consolidation or selling off assets, there has been little movement in the media industry. Investor hesitancy stems from doubts about combining struggling assets and concerns about antitrust regulations. As a result, Warner Bros. Discovery's stock has dropped significantly. While executives claim to have no intention of selling, the possibility remains as they balance servicing their debt.
