Tim Cook has arrived in Vietnam for a two-day trip, as Apple boosts ties with its key manufacturing hub

Apple CEO Tim Cook has embarked on a two-day trip to Vietnam, where he plans to meet with content creators, app developers, and students to better understand how they utilize Apple products. The company also aims to strengthen its relationship with local suppliers while contributing to clean water projects and education initiatives. Apple has significantly increased spending on suppliers in Vietnam, reaching nearly 400 trillion Vietnamese dong ($16 billion) through its supply chains since 2019. Additionally, Apple supports approximately 200,000 jobs in Vietnam through direct employment, suppliers, and app developers. Despite recent global smartphone shipment growth, iPhone shipments dropped nearly 10% in Q1 2024.
