Millions of Americans could lose their internet access as the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) faces potential funding shortages. The ACP, which offers discounted internet services to low-income households, is set to run out of funds in April. Currently, the program provides eligible households with up to $30 off monthly internet services and up to $75 for qualifying Tribal lands. The government's supplemental request for an additional $6 billion to renew the program remains unapproved. If discontinued, the digital divide may worsen, affecting older Americans, rural areas, and the Southern region of the country.
