Startups form new taskforce to take on Google on billing

According to the Economic Times, a 40-member task force has been formed by Indian companies and startups to take on the Google Play Billing System (GPBS). The task force, constituted under the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), will decide on the course of action against Google Play. The task force will consider options such as impleading in court or issuing a statement to address the GPBS issue, where Google charges a 30% commission on in-app purchases. The IAMAI aims to protect the interests of Indian companies in the tech industry.
