Solarium commissions 1 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad

Solarium Green Energy Limited has announced the commissioning of its 1 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad as part of its backward integration strategy. The facility has been set up with an estimated capital expenditure of around Rs 90 crore, excluding working capital, and features fully automated, advanced manufacturing lines. It is designed to produce high-efficiency crystalline silicon solar PV modules, including large-format G12 modules of up to 725 Wp, using technologies such as TOPCon, half-cut, and bifacial cells. Solar modules contribute nearly 50 to 60% of total EPC project costs, and the new plant is expected to reduce Solarium’s dependence on third-party suppliers while improving supply chain efficiency and execution timelines. The move is also likely to support margin expansion through captive consumption. At around 85 percent utilisation, the facility has the potential to generate annual revenues exceeding Rs 1,000 crore, subject to market conditions and module pricing. The company plans to use the plant for both internal requirements and external sales to EPC players and other B2B customers. According to chairman and managing director Ankit Garg, the facility was delivered in under nine months and marks a key milestone in the company’s growth, strengthening its capabilities across the solar value chain.
