OpenAI CEO Sam Altman expressed disappointment in Elon Musk's lawsuit against the company, saying he expected Musk to have more empathy considering his own ambitious endeavors with SpaceX. Musk had accused OpenAI of violating its nonprofit mission, but Altman stated that Musk himself had previously expressed interest in turning OpenAI into a for-profit company. Altman and others, including early OpenAI backer Vinod Khosla, found Musk's lawsuit and behavior to be unbecoming of a builder and expressed sadness over the situation. OpenAI and Musk have not yet commented on the matter.
