Unbox Robotics raises $28 Mn led by ICICI Venture Unbox Robotics, a supply chain robotics technology company, has raised $28 million in a funding round led by ICICI Venture. The round included participation from RedStart Labs, a subsidiary of Info Edge, F Prime, 3one4 Capital, Navam Capital, Force Ventures, and other existing investors. The funds will be used to expand its engineering team, accelerate product development, and enhance its market presence across India and international markets. A portion of the capital will also provide liquidity to employees through the company’s ESOP programme. Founded in 2019 by Pramod Ghadge and Shahid Memon, Unbox Robotics specializes in AI-powered, software-defined vertical robotic parcel sortation systems for ecommerce and logistics sectors. Their solutions employ proprietary Swarm Intelligence, offering space-efficient automation that requires 50 to 80 percent less area and enhances productivity threefold, ensuring cost-effective warehouse operations. Unbox Robotics serves clients in the ecommerce, retail, and logistics industries across India, Europe, and the US. The company has active deployments in countries including Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, and Belgium, and is finalizing a deal in Poland. In the US, it is preparing for its first large-scale deployment with a third-party logistics player. Nearly 96 percent of Unbox Robotics' revenue over the past year has been generated from Western markets, with India accounting for about 4 percent. The company offers both an upfront sales model and a Robot as a Service model, allowing clients to choose between purchasing robots outright or opting for a subscription-based service. In addition to its current focus, the startup is exploring the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector as a new growth avenue. Other notable players in the industry include CynLr, General Autonomy, Manav, and Ati Motors.

Perceptyne, a deep tech AI-first robotics startup, has raised $3 million in its seed round co-led by Endiya Partners and Yali Capital with participation from Whiteboard Capital and notable angels. The proceeds will be used to ramp up product development, customer acquisition, and growth. The firm is working closely with manufacturing giants in automotive and electronics. Founded by Raviteja Chivukula, Jagga Raju Nadimpalli, and Mrutyunjaya Nadiminti, Perceptyne’s products are designed to perform tasks demanding human-like dexterity, such as product assembly & packaging. To accomplish this, the startup is building a vertically integrated full-stack robotics platform centered around AI. Its flagship products, PR-34D and PR-9D, are dual-arm and single-arm robots with integrated computer vision & AI, multi-modal sensing, and highly articulate end-effectors suited for manufacturing/assembly line applications. According to the startup, its integrated approach will help manufacturing companies accelerate robotic automation efforts by dramatically reducing integration time (quarters to weeks) and implementing automation without changes to their assembly lines.

Robotics startup Octobotics raises Rs 10 Cr in seed round

AI-enabled NDT robotics startup Octobotics has raised around Rs 10 crore in its seed funding round led by Navam Capital, with participation from BYT Capital. The proceeds will be used to accelerate product development, strengthen field validation, and support international expansion. A portion of the funds will also be deployed toward certification processes and expanding operations across India, Singapore, and the Middle East. Founded in 2020 by Ishan Bhatnagar and Gulshan Kumar, Octobotics builds AI-enabled non-destructive testing (NDT) robotics platforms for inspection in asset-intensive sectors such as oil and gas, chemicals, power, marine, and railways. It focuses on inspection use cases in hazardous and hard-to-access environments. Octobotics currently serves organisations including the Indian Navy, Indian Oil Corporation, BPCL, HPCL, Aarti Industries, GSFC, and Saudi S-Chem. The startup reported Rs 2 crore in revenue in the last fiscal year. Its product portfolio includes rail inspection systems, automated weld inspection platforms, and specialised NDT tools for elevated and confined inspection zones. These systems automate manual inspection tasks and convert inspection data into actionable insights for asset operators.
