IIMA Ventures (formerly IIMA-CIIE) has announced its partnership with Google for Startups and launched its first cohort of AI Academy India 2024. The program aims to help early-stage startups harness Artificial Intelligence (AI) to address global challenges across sectors like healthcare, climate, agriculture, education, financial inclusion, and infrastructure. Following its launch in Gujarat, AI Academy India 2024 will also be held in six other cities across India in partnership with Kerala Startup Mission, T-Hub & MATH, IHFC-IIT Delhi, NSRCEL IIM Bangalore, SINE IIT Bombay, IIT Madras Incubation Cell, along with Nasscom AI and People+AI. Supported by MeitY Startup Hub, the first cohort includes 22 startups receiving practical training, expert mentorship, access to Google’s AI technologies, up to $350,000 in cloud credits, and opportunities to network with world-class companies. According to market research, the AI market in India is projected to reach $7.8 billion by 2025 and potentially add $500 billion to the GDP. According to IIMA Ventures, these startups are addressing diverse challenges: in education, with AI-powered ERP, LMS, and CRM systems; in climate change, with a social marketplace for electric vehicles; in fintech, with AI tools to simplify loan and insurance documents; and in healthcare, with AI-driven collaborative platforms to streamline business processes. IIMA Ventures has mentored over 7,000 founders, accelerated over 1,700 startups, provided catalytic capital to over 700 companies, and inspired over a million people with over 400 publications.

Startup incubator IIMA Ventures (formerly IIMA-CIIE) has launched Growth Accelerator 2.0 to support 15 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and family businesses. The program is designed to drive exponential growth for SMEs, family businesses, and growth-stage startups that is focused on strategic growth and innovation, includes a wide array of interventions such as knowledge sessions, masterclasses, workshops, founder talks, diagnostic panels, and mentoring clinics with an aim to operationalize growth opportunities in a hands-on, practical manner. The Growth Accelerator aims to provide founders and business leaders an environment to experiment with growth strategies using a time-tested methodology developed by it, IIMA Ventures stated in a press release. According to IIMA Ventures, participants will kick off their journey with a three-day bootcamp at the IIM Ahmedabad campus, featuring hands-on workshops and scaling-focused sessions led by IIMA faculty. Additionally, successful entrepreneurs will share real-world insights on scaling businesses. Over the following two months, participants will benefit from personalized mentorship from domain experts, helping them address the specific challenges of growing their businesses. IIMA Ventures claims to have mentored over 7,000 founders, accelerated over 1,700 startups, provided catalytic capital to over 700 companies, and inspired over a million people with its over 400 publications. Recently, IIMA Venture launched Venture Investing Accelerator to help first time and novice investors.

Kotak BizLabs launches Season 2 to support over 75 startups Kotak Mahindra Bank has announced the launch of Season 2 of the Kotak BizLabs Accelerator Programme, expanding its flagship CSR initiative aimed at supporting early-revenue-stage startups through deep mentorship, market access, and catalytic funding. Running from October 2025 to November 2026, the new season will support over 75 startups across India, with a continued focus on deeptech, sustainability, clean energy, fintech, digital technology, edtech, agritech, and healthtech. Expanding its national footprint across North, South, West, and Central India, Kotak BizLabs has also onboarded IIT Delhi’s Foundation for Innovation & Technology Transfer (FITT) as a new incubation partner, joining IIMA Ventures, NSRCEL – IIM Bangalore, and T-Hub. Startup selection and acceleration support will be managed by these incubators. In its debut year, Kotak BizLabs received over 1,500 applications from across the country, engaged more than 500 founders through outreach and knowledge sessions, and accelerated 55 startups with structured mentorship and incubation. Of these, 32 ventures received funding support, fuelling their next stage of growth. For Season 2, the programme aims to engage over 800 startups through outreach and knowledge sessions, accelerate more than 75 startups, and extend funding support to over 60 ventures. Season 1 of Kotak BizLabs recognised 32 high-potential startups for breakthrough solutions across agritech, climate tech, fintech, edtech, healthcare, indigenous art & craft, deeptech, cleantech, and sustainability.
