Razorpay and NPCI bring agentic payments to Claude at India AI Impact Summit The offering allows users to order food, groceries, and everyday essentials from Zomato, Swiggy, and Zepto without leaving the conversation. Razorpay and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) have collaborated to enable shopping with AI by bringing Agentic Payments to Claude. Unveiled at the India AI Impact Summit, the platform is currently in the pilot phase with a small group of users. AI assistants are increasingly shaping how people discover and compare products. This platform, built on Claude, integrates a critical element, payments, directly into the agentic experience, enabling Claude to securely complete transactions on a user’s behalf. As a result, payments happen seamlessly within the conversation. A demonstration of the offering was showcased at the India AI Impact Summit. The partnership brings together Razorpay’s Agentic Payments, NPCI’s UPI infrastructure, and Claude’s conversational intelligence to unlock a new model of AI native commerce. Backed by UPI Reserve Pay, users can approve a single spending limit for a merchant and then make multiple secure purchases without repeated PIN prompts, while retaining full control through real-time visibility, flexible limits, and instant consent revocation. For example, a user can go to Claude and order food from Zomato by simply saying, “I am craving a mid-evening samosa and chai. Can you order this for me and my team from my favourite restaurant near my office?” The AI agent checks the available options on Zomato, presents them to the user, and, with a single confirmation, places the order through Razorpay’s UPI powered Agentic Payments on Reserve Pay. Combined with India’s high-frequency digital habits, especially in food and grocery, this creates an ideal environment for agent-led commerce to scale quickly and responsibly. Together, these factors position India as one of the few global markets where AI, payments, and consumer trust are aligned at population scale, enabling agentic commerce to become a reality.

Razorpay and Replit have announced a partnership to help AI-first builders in India not only pay for their subscriptions seamlessly but also turn their ideas into scalable, monetised products. By integrating Replit’s AI software creation platform with Razorpay’s payments infrastructure, the partnership allows AI-built products to accept UPI from day one. Rolling out in beta, Replit will go live with Razorpay’s International Payments Suite, allowing Indian users to pay in INR via familiar methods like UPI and cards. This will effectively strive to transform a global, cross-border subscription into a local payments experience for Indian customers. As per market research, India processes over 20 billion UPI transactions every month and UPI accounts for around 85% of all digital payments. According to Razorpay, its payment stack will be embedded into the Replit platform, enabling the Replit agent to serve and monetise Indian users. Razorpay will handle compliance, FX, and USD settlements behind the scenes, allowing Replit to monetise Indian users without setting up a local entity. Building on recent collaborations with global AI companies, including work with OpenAI and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to pioneer agentic AI payments, Razorpay strives to expand how AI platforms unlock real economic value. The partnership with Replit extends this vision by embedding Razorpay’s India-ready payments and compliance stack directly into AI-driven software creation. Replit is the agentic software creation platform that enables anyone to build applications using natural language. With millions of users worldwide and over 500,000 professional users, it is democratizing software development by removing traditional barriers to application creation. The company has grown from $3 million to more than $300 million in ARR in the past 18 months.
