Quick thinking and a stroke of luck averted a moon lander disaster for Intuitive Machines

Intuitive Machines' spacecraft, Odysseus, made a successful but imperfect landing on the lunar surface, becoming the first privately built spacecraft to land on the moon. Despite landing sideways, the vehicle remained intact, which the CEO referred to as a miracle. The onboard camera was powered down during landing, so engineers had to rely on other data to assess the lander's orientation. Although some details are still being reconstructed, it appears that the spacecraft landed upright but tilted over due to horizontal movement. Most of the onboard payloads are functioning well, and the success of the mission was made possible by quick thinking and a stroke of luck by the mission controllers.
