Kadi UPI Smart Watch is a device priced at Rs 1,000 designed to empower street vendors and merchants who operate beyond conventional retail setups in India. It replaces the need for sound boxes for vendors who don’t have a shop and includes UPI payment capabilities. The watch doesn't require additional shelf space and provides health reporting and insurance starting at Rs 1 per day. Proxgy, the company behind Kadi, plans to offer the device to banks and fintech companies to facilitate merchant onboarding.

ONDC completes more than 7.1 million cumulative orders in February since inception a year ago

The government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) achieved over 7.1 million cumulative orders in February, growing from 6.75 million in January. The platform, which aims to democratize ecommerce, now has over 370,000 sellers and service providers across 588 cities in India. This includes mobility orders (52.8%) and non-mobility orders (47.2%). ONDC has also expanded mobility services to seven cities and launched a pilot to onboard street food vendors. Additionally, the platform conducted a seller onboarding program for various agricultural and cooperative societies.
