The report highlights sound financial growth, with a 14.3% year-on-year growth in scale and controlled losses by 70%. FirstCry's revenue from operations grew to Rs 2,172 crore in Q3 FY25 from Rs 1,900 crore in Q3 FY24, its unaudited financial statements sourced from the National Stock Exchange (NSE) show. The sale of its products through offline stores and websites in India and the international market was the primary source of revenue, accounting for nearly 82% of total operating revenue, while its subsidiary, GlobalBees, contributed Rs 422 crore. The company also made Rs 44 crore from interest income which took its overall revenue to Rs 2,217 crore in Q3 FY25, compared to Rs 1,936 crore in Q3 FY24. For the omnichannel retailer, the cost of procurement of materials accounted for 66% of the overall expenditure which increased 17% year-on-year to Rs 1,451 crore in Q3 FY25 from Rs 1,239 crore in Q3 FY24. FirstCry’s employee benefits stood at Rs 177 crore in Q3 FY25 which includes Rs 28 crore as ESOP cost. The marketing, legal, rent, and technology were other overheads that pushed the overall expenditure to Rs 2,210 crore in Q3 FY25 from Rs 1,978 crore in Q3 FY24. The decent scale and controlled expenditure helped FirstCry to reduce its losses by 70% to Rs 15 crore in the last quarter. Notably, the company reported a positive EBITDA of Rs 152 crore. As of the last trading session, FirstCry’s share price stood at Rs 419 per share, with a total market capitalization of Rs 21,753.8 crore (approximately $2.5 billion).

Swiggy expands ESOP pool with Rs 150 Cr fresh grant Food delivery and quick commerce platform Swiggy has rolled out fresh employee stock option (ESOP) grants worth Rs 150 crore ($17.5 million). Swiggy Limited has granted 38.86 lakh stock options under its ESOP 2024 plan, according to filings with the NSE. At the current market price of Rs 385.3 per share, the grant is valued at around Rs 150 crore. As per the disclosure, the stock options have an exercise price of Rs 1 each and convert into one fully paid-up equity share upon vesting. They can be exercised anytime after the vesting period until the company’s liquidation. The development comes a month after, when Swiggy entered the travel concierge and lifestyle management space with a new app called Crew. Entrackr has exclusively reported the development. In April this year, the Bengaluru-based company announced fresh employee stock options under its ESOP plan 2024 for eligible employees worth Rs 443.4 crore (around $52 million). Swiggy’s losses surged 95% year-on-year to Rs 1,081 crore in the fourth quarter of FY25, even as revenue rose 45% to Rs 4,410 crore. For the full fiscal year, the company reported Rs 15,227 crore in revenue. In contrast, rival Zomato remained profitable with Rs 39 crore during the last quarter of the previous fiscal year (Q4FY25), while Zepto narrowed its losses to Rs 1,248 crore in FY24. At the close of trading on Friday (July 11, 2025), Swiggy’s shares were priced at Rs 385.3, and the company had a market capitalization of Rs 96,080 crore (around $11.3 billion).

Online fashion and beauty commerce platform Nykaa showcased a 24.1% growth in scale during the fiscal year ending March 2024. The profit after tax (PAT) for the Falguni Nayar-led firm also rose 90.5% to Rs 40 crore in the same period. Nykaa’s revenue from operations grew 24.1% to Rs 6,386 crore in FY24 from Rs 5,144 crore in FY23, its consolidated financial statements disclosed in the stock exchange filing show. Nykaa On a sequential basis, the firm posted a 6.8% decrease in revenue to Rs 1,668 crore in Q4 FY24 from Rs 1,789 crore in Q3 FY24. The sale of beauty, personal care, fashion and other products and services through various platforms was the sole source of revenue for Nykaa. The firm has 14 subsidiaries and one associate named Earth Rhythm. It also made Rs 30 crore from interest and gain on the financial assets, tallying the total income to Rs 6,416 crore in FY24. For the fashion and beauty commerce platform, the cost of procurement formed 57.4% of the overall expenditure. In line with the scale, this cost grew 27.3% to Rs 3,647 crore in FY24. Its employee benefits, finance, depreciation, legal, advertising cum promotional, conveyance, and other overheads took the overall expenditure up by 23.6% to Rs 6,346 crore in FY24. The 24% scale and prudent cost mechanism helped Nykaa post a 90.5% increase in profit to Rs 40 crore in FY24 from Rs 21 crore in FY23. Its ROCE and EBITDA margins stood at 5% and 1.6%, respectively. On a unit level, Nykaa spent Rs 0.99 to earn a rupee in FY24. Nykaa Just ahead of quarterly and FY24 financial results, Nykaa announced fresh employee stock option (ESOP) options for its employees under the new ESOP scheme. As per Fintrackr’s estimates, the newly added ESOP options were worth around Rs 7 crore. Nykaa is currently trading at Rs 179.2 as of (22nd May at 5.08 pm) with a market cap of Rs 51,171 crore.

INDmoney has continued its growth streak in the fiscal year ending March 2024. The Tiger Global-backed firm has managed 73.2% year-on-year growth in its operating revenue during the last fiscal. At the same time, its losses grew only 12% in the same period. INDmoney’s revenue from operations spiked 73.2% to Rs 70 crore in FY24 from Rs 40.6 crore in FY23, its consolidated financial statements sourced from the Registrar of Companies (RoC) show. INDmoney lets users manage their money through investments in mutual funds including Indian and overseas stocks. It claims to have amassed 10 million users on the platform. Income from distribution services accounted for 76% of the operating revenue which increased by 56% to Rs 53.6 crore in FY24, whereas income from broking activities surged to Rs 10.7 crore in FY24 from Rs 10 lakh in FY23. The company added another Rs 6 crore from allied services during the last fiscal year. The Gurugram-based company also made Rs 57.7 crore from interest and gain on sale of current investments which pushed its total revenue to Rs 128 crore in FY24. This significant other income is a result of its huge current financial assets which stood at Rs 725 crore at the end of March 2024. When it comes to expenses, employee benefits remained the largest cost driver for INDmoney. This overhead grew 11% to Rs 124.53 crore in FY24 from Rs 111.86 crore in FY23. IT expenses stood at Rs 57.18 crore while marketing burn contributed Rs 33.80 crore in FY24. Finance, depreciation, depletion, amortization and other expenses pushed the total expenditure to Rs 233.6 crore in the last fiscal. This is a 17% increase from Rs 199 crore in the previous fiscal year. INDmoney reported a 12% growth in its net losses to Rs 82.55 crore in FY24. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin stood at -11.47% and -75.6%, respectively, on a unit level, it spent Rs 3.32 to earn a rupee during FY24. INDmoney has raised $133 million since its inception in 2019. The Ashish Kashyap-led company raised its latest funding worth $75 million in January 2022 at a valuation of more than $600 million. While obviously good at raising funds, it remains to be seen if INDmoney can find a market big enough and willing to give it a shot. It's in a segment where massive consumer shifts are not unknown, even though INDmoney itself doesn't seem to have got there yet. Something like investing overseas, where awareness is still low could become winners if the market shifts in that direction. However, it remains a cluttered and tough space to eke out a profitable existence, and INDmoney will need to make a big bet soon, despite its already high cost structure.

On a year-on-year basis, Awfis’ revenue from operations grew 55.8% to Rs 849 crore in FY24 from Rs 545 crore in FY23, its consolidated financial statements disclosed in the stock exchange filing show. On a sequential basis, the firm posted a 5% increase in revenue to Rs 232 crore in Q4 FY24 from Rs 221 crore in Q3 FY24. Founded in 2015, Awfis offers customized office spaces for startups, SMEs, and large corporations including ancillary services like food and beverages, IT support, and infrastructure services among others. Income from co-working space rental and allied services formed 73% of the total operating revenue which spiked 47.7% to Rs 619 crore in FY24 from Rs 419 crore in FY23. Its finance, legal, depreciation and amortization, purchase of traded goods, and other overheads took the overall expenditure up by 45.8% to Rs 892 crore in FY24 from Rs 612 crore in FY23. Peak XV-backed Mokobara grew rapidly in the fiscal year ending March 2024, with its operating scale surging 2.2X. Simultaneously, the Bengaluru-based firm halved its losses during the same period. Mokobara's revenue from operations spiked to Rs 117.4 crore in the last fiscal year from Rs 53.3 crore in FY23, according to its financial statement sourced from the Registrar of Companies (RoC). Mokobara is an Indian direct to customer luggage brand which offers wallets, travel bags, kits, sling bags and other travel accessories. Sale of these products was the sole source of revenue for the company in FY24. The company also earned additional Rs 1.6 crore from interest income which pushed its total income to Rs 119.03 crore in FY24. On the expense side, the largest expense category, material costs, spiked 2X to Rs 57.28 crore, constituting 46.5% of the total expenses. Advertising expenses grew by 37.9% to Rs 22.64 crore, while employee benefit costs rose sharply by 2.6X to Rs 13.02 crore. Overall, Mokobara's total costs doubled to Rs 123.3 crore in the last fiscal year from Rs 61.9 crore in FY23. In the end, Mokobara managed to halve its losses to Rs 4.24 crore in FY24 from Rs 8.21 crore in FY23. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin stood at -0.97% and -0.92%, respectively. On a unit basis, the company spent Rs 1.05 to earn a rupee of operating revenue during the last fiscal year. The company's current assets grew to Rs 182.6 crore in FY24, driven by increased cash and bank balances, which surged to Rs 111.67 crore. By the end of FY24, Mokobara raised $12 million led by Peak XV. It competes with Uppercase, Assembly, Nasher Miles, and EUME, all of which secured funding in 2024. Uppercase raised $9 million in August, Assembly secured $2 million led by Prath Capital, Nasher Miles raised $4 million in a bridge round, and EUME received funds in a seed round. Mokobara has made its mark, and done it well by easing almost into profits, in a market that has begun to see a 'once in 30 years' sort of upheaval. If it was Safari upending the cozy duopoly of VIP industries and Samsonite earlier, it is brands like Mokobara that are still slicing and dicing the market for more discerning customers. Investors clearly see the signs, but are probably not as convinced about the eventual potential in the mature category, which explains the tentative size of the bets. Mokobara has the clear opportunity in D2C, and the focus should hold it in good stead to establish itself more firmly.

Amazon India’s marketplace revenue has continued to outpace Flipkart Marketplaces, with collections from its platform and related services crossing the Rs 25,000 crore mark and registering an adjusted EBITDA of Rs 588.6 crore in FY24. However, Flipkart’s top-line growth was significantly higher than that of Amazon Seller Services during the fiscal year ending March 2024. Amazon India’s revenue from operations grew 14.5% to Rs 25,406 crore in FY24 in contrast to Rs 22,198 crore booked in FY23, its standalone financial statements filed with the Registrar of Companies show. The entity generated 82.4% of the revenue from marketplace services while the remaining came from the services rendered to related parties including platform services, marketing, and royalty revenues. The firm also generated a non-operating income worth Rs 186.8 crore, pushing the overall revenue to Rs 25,592.8 crore in FY24. Amazon Seller Services is engaged in marketplace and marketing support services. Its ultimate holding company is Amazon.com, Inc., which is based in the United States of America. Moving over to the spending, delivery charges were the largest cost element forming 25.8% of the total expenses. The cost went up 9.1% to Rs 7,487.9 crore in FY24 from Rs 6,863.1 crore in FY23. Sales promotion and legal cum professional costs were the other two significant elements which formed around 12% each and stood at Rs 3,586.1 crore and Rs 3,530.2 crore, respectively, in FY24. During the year, Amazon Seller Services spent Rs 2,771.2 crore on employee benefits which also include share-based payments (ESOP cost) of Rs 682.7 crore. Amazon India marketplace arm’s total expenses increased 6.5% to Rs 29,062.3 crore during FY24 from Rs 27,283.6 crore in FY23. In the end, the company managed to control its losses by 28.5% to Rs 3,469.5 crore in FY24 as compared to Rs 4,854.1 crore in FY23. Its operating cash flows also turned positive to Rs 724.1 crore during the last fiscal year against Rs -1,542.1 crore in FY23. It is worth noting that the company reported an EBITDA loss of Rs 94.1 crore in FY24, excluding the ESOP cost (non-cash expenses), the company turned profitable on the operational level with an adjusted EBITDA of Rs 588.6 crore during the year. The highlights of the improved bottom line can also be seen in the EBITDA margin which strengthened to -0.37%. On a unit level, Amazon’s Indian entity spent Rs 1.14 to earn a rupee of operating revenue in FY24. The entity’s rival, Flipkart's marketplace arm reported Rs 17,907 crore in revenue with 21% YoY growth while the company’s losses shrank over 40% to Rs 2,358 crore in FY24.

Paytm’s revenue from operations grew 25% to Rs 9,978 crore in FY24 from Rs 7,990 crore in FY23, its annual financial statements disclosed through the National Stock Exchange show. Income from payment services accounted for 62.48% of the total operating revenue, which grew 25% to Rs 6,235 crore in FY24. Meanwhile, income from financial services grew by 30% to Rs 2,004 crore. The remainder income came from marketing and other sources. Paytm also made Rs 547 crore from non-operating activities mainly from interest and gain on financial assets, tallying the total income to Rs 10,525 crore in the last fiscal year (FY24). To the tune of other technology firms, its employee benefits accounted for 39.4% of the overall expenditure. This cost surged 21.5% to Rs 4,589 crore in FY24 from Rs 3,778 crore in FY23. This includes Rs 1,466 crore as share-based payment aka ESOPs cost. Its payment processing charges grew 10.9% to Rs 3,280 crore in FY2. Paytm’s software/tech, marketing cum promotional, legal, and other overheads drove its total expenditure up by 15% to Rs 11,645 crore in FY24 from Rs 10,130 crore in FY23. Note: Paytm has booked Rs 1,465 crore of ESOPs and wrote off Rs 227 crore worth of investments which was made to its associate firm Paytm Payments Bank Ltd (PPBL) after RBI’s action. The decent growth and controlled expenditure helped Paytm to reduce its net losses by 20% to Rs 1,422 crore in FY24. Meanwhile, Paytm maintained its EBITDA profitability before ESOP throughout the year which stood at Rs 559 crore in FY24.

Mohalla Tech, the parent entity of the vernacular social media platform ShareChat and short video entertainment app Moj, has registered 33% year-on-year growth during the fiscal year ended March 2024. Its adjusted EBITDA loss also plummeted by 67% in the same period. According to the company's press release, Mohalla Tech’s revenue from operations increased to Rs 718 crore in FY24 from Rs 540 crore in FY23. Revenue from live streaming contributed 56% of the company's total operating income, which grew by 41.4% to Rs 403 crore in FY24. Advertising accounted for the remaining share, which saw a 23.5% year-on-year growth to Rs 315 crore in FY24. ShareChat also added a non-operating income of Rs 29 crore mainly from interest and gain on financial assets which tallied the overall revenue to Rs 747 crore in the last fiscal year. For the social media firm, server cost was the largest cost center in FY24. As per Sharechat’s chief financial officer Manohar Charan, the firm managed to reduce this cost by 50% in FY24. Sharechat has managed to reduce its employee benefits cost by 17% to Rs 580 crore in FY24. This includes Rs 126 crore as ESOP (non-cash). Its advertising, legal, travel, and other overheads took the overall operating expenses to Rs 1540 crore in FY24 from Rs 3119 crore in FY23. In calculating the overall cost, we have excluded all non-cash components, including interest, provisions, foreign exchange (FX) losses, depreciation, and ESOP expenses for both FY24 and FY23. The 33% growth and controlled server cost helped Mohalla Tech to reduce its adjusted EBITDA losses by 67% to Rs 793 crore in FY24 from Rs 2400 crore in FY23. Notably, the net consolidated losses of the firm stood at Rs 1,898 crore in FY24 down from Rs 5,143 crore in FY23. Backed by the likes of Temasek Holdings, Google, Twitter, The Times Group, Tiger Global, Snap, Lightspeed, and Elevation Capital, ShareChat claims to have more than 325 million monthly active users (MAUs) across all its platforms. Its short video app Moj boasts a monthly active user base of nearly 160 million. The company recently expanded its debt round to $65 million, with a $16 million infusion from Singapore-based EDBI. According to startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, ShareChat has raised around $1.8 billion. However, it saw a major haircut in valuation to less than $2 billion from $5 billion during its last fundraise in June 2022. As part of its mid-year performance cycle, the company also let go of 5% of its workforce in August this year. In 2023, ShareChat implemented several cost-cutting measures and laid off 700 employees across two phases.

Progcap’s revenue from operations nearly doubled to Rs 139 crore in FY24 from Rs 71 crore in FY23, its consolidated financial statement sourced from the Registrar of Companies (RoC) shows. Progcap facilitates debt capital for underserved micro and small businesses. The fintech platform digitizes supply chains and facilitates access to finance for last mile retailers. Revenue from these services was the sole source of income for the company. Progcap made an additional Rs 20 crore from interest on deposits and gains on current investments which pushed its total income to Rs 159 crore in FY24 from Rs 102 crore in FY23. On the expense side, employee benefit costs remained the largest expenditure, accounting for 61% of the total expense, to the tune of scale. This cost grew by 15% to Rs 124 crore in FY24. The firm’s finance costs surged sharply to Rs 22.5 crore from just Rs 1 crore in FY23. Other major expenses included collection deficiency charges (Rs 9.5 crore), travel expenses (Rs 6 crore), and miscellaneous costs. Overall, the company’s total expenses grew by 36% to Rs 203 crore in FY24 from Rs 149 crore in the preceding fiscal year. Progcap managed to cut its losses by 6% to Rs 46 crore in FY24 from Rs 49 crore in FY23. Its ROCE and EBITDA Margin improved to -2.96% and -11.32% respectively. On a unit basis, the company spent Rs 1.46 to earn a rupee of operating revenue in FY24. The Delhi-based firm reported current assets worth Rs 1,321 crore which include Rs 163 crore of cash and bank balance in FY24. According to TheKredible, Progcap has raised a total of approx $112 million in funding to date, having Tiger Global, Peak XV, Creation Investments, and GrowX Ventures as its lead investors. Progcap’s co-founders, Pallavi Shrivastava and Himanshu Chandra, collectively hold a 23.41% stake in the company.
