Preventive pain care startup Betterhood has raised Rs 5 crore in a seed funding round led by Kairon Capital, with participation from Yogesh Kabra, Rishubh Satiya, Rohit Chawla, Sifat Khurana, and Shayamal Vallabhjee. The proceeds will be used for product development, team expansion across product, content and growth functions, and scaling distribution across online and offline channels, Betterhood said in a press release. Co-founded in October 2024 by Vikram Kadam and Neha Zade, Betterhood focuses on musculoskeletal health through science-backed products, educational content, digital tools, and expert-led interventions. The company offers solutions including posture supports, orthotic supports, and pain relief and recovery products, aiming to help consumers address pain early and build long-term musculoskeletal health. According to the Bengaluru-based startup, it has developed assessment tools on its website that help users identify the root causes of neck, back, shoulder, and knee pain, providing a clinically grounded starting point for their care journey. Recently, the company launched Slouch Catcher, a posture analysis tool that allows users to upload a posture snapshot, receive a personalised score and an animal-inspired posture persona, making posture awareness more engaging and accessible. Betterhood is also launching The Physio Edge, a certification programme for early-career physiotherapists aimed at bridging the gap between academic training and real-world clinical practice. Since its launch, Betterhood claims to have served more than 60,000 customers and created over 1,000 pieces of educational content across platforms on posture, pain prevention, movement, and recovery. The startup plans to expand its presence through physiotherapy clinics, running communities, and wellness retail as it grows its footprint in preventive pain care.

The round also saw participation from existing investor W Health Ventures. The proceeds will be used to enable Nivaan Care to expand its reach to 10 new clinics across two cities. Founded in 2023 by Nivesh Khandelwal and Vishwas Singh, Nivaan focuses on providing multidisciplinary care through a biopsychosocial approach, which has proven to be over nine times more effective than traditional methods. Nivaan offers comprehensive care plans and minimally invasive procedures to its patients through its seven clinics. At Nivaan Care, patients get a team of pain management specialists, physiotherapists, psychologists, nutritionists, and care managers who create a comprehensive and personalized treatment plan. Nivaan Care claims to be treating over 10,000 patients and performing 1,400 procedures in just one and a half years.

Cancer care startup Oncare has raised Rs 27 crore (around $4 million) in a Series A funding round led by Sky Impact Capital. The round also saw participation from Huddle Ventures, Lotus Herbal Group, SteerX, and Tremis Capital. Oncare had previously raised $1 million in its seed round led by Huddle Ventures and others. The proceeds will be used to expand into new metro markets as well as tier-II and tier-III cities. The firm will also invest in technology infrastructure to streamline clinical operations, strengthen care coordination, and improve patient experience. Founded in 2023 by Amar Sneh and Deepak Kumar, Oncare operates a distributed oncology care platform focused on affordable and standardized cancer treatment. The firm integrates medical, surgical, and radiation oncology services within accredited hospitals under a capital-efficient model. Oncare currently operates four centers across Delhi NCR. Funding deals in the oncology segment have picked up over the past few years. Recently, 4baseCare raised Rs 90 crore in a round led by Ashish Kacholia and Lashit Sanghvi. Last year, Everhope Oncology secured $10 million in seed funding, while MOC Cancer Care & Research Centre raised $18 million in a round led by Elevation Capital. Other funded startups in the segment include ErlySign, Oncare, and OneCell Diagnostics.

Healthtech startup CURAPOD has raised Rs 20 crore (around $2.2 million) in a pre-Series A round led by V3 Ventures, 3i Partners, and Ideaspring Capital. CURAPOD is backed by Litemed. The fresh capital will be used to accelerate research and development, enhance its device and companion app, scale manufacturing, and expand go-to-market efforts. It also plans to strengthen its direct-to-consumer presence, expand partnerships with gyms, physiotherapy centres, and sports medicine networks, and improve operational efficiencies. Founded in 2022 by Sri Velliyur and Surya Maguluri, CURAPOD develops wearable, non-invasive pain management devices focused on musculoskeletal conditions. The brand’s device uses photobiomodulation therapy and is designed to address conditions such as back pain, neck pain, knee pain, joint disorders, muscle stiffness, and sports-related injuries. The device is FDA-registered and supports more than 30 musculoskeletal conditions, offering a drug-free alternative to conventional pain management methods. The firm follows a clinician-led adoption model and is expanding its footprint across India.
