OpenAI has begun expanding its Applications team, now led by Fidji Simo, the new CEO of Applications. OpenAI is acquiring Statsig, a company specializing in product analytics, for $1.1 billion. Statsig's CEO, Vijaye Raji, will join OpenAI as the CTO of Applications. The acquisition will allow Statsig to continue operating independently in Seattle. OpenAI is also restructuring its executive roles, with Srinivas Narayanan promoted and Kevin Weil transitioning to focus on AI for Science.
