Number of devices hit by data-stealing malware rises over 600% in three years: Kaspersky

Cybersecurity firm Kaspersky has reported a 600% increase in devices compromised with data-stealing malware in the last three years. The firm's data showed that 10 million personal and corporate devices were affected in 2023, a significant rise from previous years. Kaspersky also found that 443,000 websites globally had experienced compromised credentials in the last five years, with the .com domain being most affected. The number of infections is expected to continue rising, presenting a growing threat to both individuals and businesses. Cybercriminals are stealing an average of 50.9 login credentials per infected device, which can include social media, online banking, and email logins.
