Researchers have discovered a vulnerability in virtual private network (VPN) applications called TunnelVision, which can force VPNs to send some or all traffic outside of the secure tunnel. This attack essentially undermines the purpose of VPNs, which are designed to encrypt and protect internet traffic. The researchers believe that TunnelVision affects all VPN apps when connected to a hostile network, and there is no complete fix for the issue except for Linux and Android VPNs. The attack involves manipulating the DHCP server and using routing rules to divert traffic to the attacker.
