Microsoft has released a patch to address a Windows Kernel privilege escalation vulnerability that was known to be exploited for at least six months. The flaw, known as CVE-2024-21338, was first discovered by Avast researchers and affected multiple versions of Windows 10 and Windows 11, as well as Windows Server 2019 and 2022.
