Next wave of startups from India to be on deeptech, IP-based devices: MoS IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar

According to Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the next wave of startups in India will focus on intellectual property-based products in deep tech areas like AI, semiconductors, quantum computing, and Web 3.0. The government is also considering supporting eligible startups to receive research and development assistance from global institutions. Additionally, there are plans to incorporate provisions in the IT rules to prohibit the distribution of deep-fake content if internet and social media intermediaries don't comply with advisories. The government is currently reviewing proposals for setting up semiconductor fabrication units and compound semiconductor chip fabrication units.
