Gaming and sports media company Nazara Technologies operating revenue has decreased marginally in Q1 FY25. However, the firm managed to grow its profit by over 38% majorly due to low deferred tax. Nazara’s operating revenue fell 6.06% to Rs 250 crore in Q1 FY25 from Rs 266.2 crore in Q4 FY24, its unaudited consolidated financial statements sourced from National Stock Exchange (NSE) show. e-sports formed 52.73% of the company’s total operating revenue whereas the gaming segment had a share of 37.11% followed by ad tech which accounted for 10.26% of the topline. Nazara also made Rs 25.57 crore via interest and gains on financial assets during the quarter which pushed its overall revenue to Rs 275.65 crore. The company reduced its total expenses by 15.44%, bringing them down to Rs 241 crore in Q1 FY25 from Rs 285 crore in Q4 FY24. Content, events, and web servers collectively contributed 35.17% to the total expenses, while employee benefits and marketing accounted for 21.28% and 17% of the total costs, respectively. Nazara’s fall in expenses led to a 38.53% spike in profit which stood at Rs 23.62 crore in Q1 FY25 against Rs 17 crore in Q4 FY24. With more than a dozen brands under its portfolio, Nazara Technologies is on an acquisition spree. As per TheKredible, the company has acquired 14 startups to date, with 4 deals concluded in the last two months including Fusebox Games, Kiddopia’s developer Paper Boat Apps, IP rights of Ultimate Teen Patti and assets of DeltiasGaming. Nazara has seen significant success in its ‘acquire and scale’ strategy over the last few years and plans to invest $100 million for mergers and acquisitions in the coming two years. Nazara also made headlines last month when Openplay Technologies and Halaplay Technologies, the two subsidiaries of the gaming firm, received notice from the Goods and Services (GST) department to pay nearly Rs 1,120 crore in retrospective taxes for the period of FY18 to FY23. Nazara made its entry into the public market in March 2021 at Rs 1,990 per share and achieved an all-time high of over Rs 2,600 in October 2021. The company also went for a stock split in June 2024 at a 2:1 ratio. Its current share price stands at around Rs 932.15 with a market cap of Rs 7,130 crore or $$850 million, as of Aug 14, 2024 (IST 1:00 PM).

The Noida-based company’s operating revenue rose to Rs 791 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 677 crore in Q1 FY25, according to documents sourced from the National Stock Exchange (NSE). On a quarter-on-quarter basis, Info Edge’s operating revenue rose 5.5% to Rs 791 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 750 crore in Q4 FY25. Info Edge derives the majority of its revenue from Naukri.com, which contributed Rs 562 crore in the quarter ending June 2025, a 15% year-on-year growth compared to Q1 FY25. Meanwhile, revenue from 99acres reached Rs 111 crore, while Jeevansathi and Shiksha contributed Rs 34 crore and Rs 50 crore, respectively, during the same quarter. The company added another Rs 213 crore from interest on deposits and investment which pushed its overall revenue to Rs 1,004 crore in Q1 FY26. On the expense side, Info Edge spent 58% of its overall expenditure on employee benefits, which increased 12% year-on-year to Rs 327 crore in Q1 FY26. Its advertising and internet costs stood at Rs 127 crore and Rs 22 crore, respectively. The company’s overall cost grew 16% YoY to Rs 564 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 485 crore in Q1 FY25. Info Edge’s profit grew by 32% to Rs 343 crore in Q1 FY26, compared to Rs 259 crore in Q1 FY25. Its EBITDA stood at Rs 468 crore in the same period. As of 2:22 PM (Friday, August 8), Info Edge is trading at Rs 1,333.5, down 2% from today’s opening price. The firm’s market capitalization stands at Rs 86,277 crore ($9.8 billion).

The Gurugram-based company generated the largest share (88%) of its operating revenue from insurance broker services, which rose to Rs 1,187 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 845 crore in Q1 FY25. Besides operating revenue, the firm also earned Rs 99 crore via interest and gains from financial assets during the quarter which took its total topline to Rs 1,447 crore in the quarter ending June 2025. PolicyBazaar has not provided a detailed breakdown of expenses in its quarterly financial statements. However, employee benefits expenses rose by 23% YoY to Rs 560 crore. Overall, the company's total costs grew 25% to Rs 1,356 crore in Q1 FY26 compared to Rs 1,081 crore in Q1 FY25. PolicyBazaar's net profits surged 42% to Rs 85 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 60 crore in Q1 FY25. At the end of the day, PolicyBazaar traded at Rs 1,808 with a total market capitalization of Rs 83,033 crore (approximately $9.5 billion).

The company added Rs 24 crore from non-operating activities which tallied its overall revenue to Rs 619 crore in Q1 FY26. For the D2C brand, the cost of procurement of products accounted for 30% of the overall expenditure. This cost increased by 9% to Rs 171 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 157 crore in Q1 FY25. The company’s spending on employee benefits, marketing, legal, rent, and other overheads drove an 8% year-on-year rise in total expenditure to Rs 563 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 520 crore in Q1 FY25. The company reported a profit after tax of Rs 41.3 crore in Q1 FY26, 5% up from Rs 40.2 crore in Q1 FY25. On a unit basis, the company spent Re 0.95 to earn a Rupee of operating revenue with EBITDA of Rs 55 in Q1 FY26. MamaEarth parent’s shares were trading at Rs 271 with a total marketing capitalization of Rs 8,812 crore ($1 billion).

On a quarter-on-quarter basis, Tracxn’s operating revenue remained flat at Rs 21.2 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 21.14 crore in Q4 FY25. Tracxn generated its entire operating revenue from subscription sales, offering access to its data and software. However, the Bengaluru-based firm did not provide a detailed revenue breakdown for the quarter. The company also made Rs 1.68 crore from non-operating sources which took Tracxn’s total revenue to Rs 22.88 crore in the first quarter. Employee benefits remained the largest cost center for Tracxn, accounting for 88% of its total expenditure. This expense increased by 7% year-on-year, rising to Rs 18.95 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 17.67 crore in Q1 FY25. Overall, Tracxn's total costs grew by approximately 6%, reaching Rs 21.43 crore in Q1 FY26. The company’s profit after tax decreased to Rs 1.11 crore in Q1 FY26 from a profit of Rs 1.27 crore in Q1 FY25. However, the company reported a profit before tax of Rs 1.45 crore. Swiggy’s food delivery business continues to be one of the major contributors, accounting for 36% of the total collection in Q1 FY26. Revenues from this vertical grew 19% to Rs 1,800 crore from Rs 1,518 crore in Q1 FY25. The company’s quick commerce segment also saw remarkable growth, with revenue surging by 2X to Rs 806 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 374 crore in Q1 FY25. The segment's gross order value (GOV) growth was driven by an increase in order frequency and the addition of new dark stores. Swiggy’s Dine Out, Genie, Swiggy Mini and other non-operating income took its total revenue to Rs 5,048 crore in Q1 FY26. On the cost side, the procurement of FMCG products for supply chain distribution formed 33% of its overall cost which increased by 72% to Rs 2,064 crore in Q1 FY26. Meanwhile, the delivery charges saw 26% growth to Rs 1,313 crore in Q1 FY26. Swiggy spent Rs 686 crore and Rs 1,036 crore on employee benefits and advertising, respectively. Overall, Swiggy’s total expenses for the quarter increased 60% to Rs 6,244 crore from Rs 3,908 crore in Q1 FY25. The 60% growth in expenditure led losses to increase by 96% to Rs 1,197 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 611 crore in Q1 FY25. Recently Swiggy reshuffled its board as Sumer Juneja from SoftBank and Anand Daniel from Accel resigned from their roles as nominee directors on Swiggy’s board. Following these departures, Swiggy appointed Faraz Khalid, CEO of Middle East commerce platform noon, as an independent director. Swiggy shares were trading at Rs 404 at the end of Thursday with a total market capitalization of Rs 1,00,730 crore.

Due to expense outpacing revenue growth, profit decreased 50% to Rs 30.5 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 61 crore in Q1 FY25. The company reported a positive EBITDA of Rs 172 crore. Aye Finance received final approval from the market regulator for its public listing, following the submission of its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) in December. The forthcoming IPO will include a fresh issue of equity shares totaling Rs 885 crore, alongside an offer-for-sale (OFS) of Rs 565 crore. Ather’s cost of materials, primarily driven by battery and component procurement, made up the largest share of its expenditure. This cost increased by nearly 74% to Rs 518 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 297 crore in the same period last year, accounting for over 61% of the total expenses during the quarter. Employee benefit expenses saw a surge of 37% YoY to Rs 119 crore in Q1 FY26 compared to Rs 87 crore in Q1 FY25. Depreciation and amortization costs rose 20% to Rs 48 crore, while other operational costs jumped nearly 31% to Rs 166 crore. Overall, Ather’s total expenditure grew 54% to Rs 851 crore in Q1 FY26, up from Rs 551 crore in Q1 FY25. As a result, the company’s net losses reduced by 3% to Rs 178 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 183 crore in Q1 FY25. In July 2025, Ather Energy maintained its fourth-place market position, selling 16,231 units. This represents a 10.59% month-on-month increase from the 14,677 units sold in June, bringing their market share to 15.78%. Ather Energy made its stock market debut on May 6, 2025, listing at Rs 328 per share on the NSE. However, the stock is currently trading at Rs 375, bringing its total market capitalization to Rs 13,723 crore ($1.5 billion). Nazara Technologies Limited, India's premier listed gaming and esports company, has invested Rs 196 crores in four gaming companies. The company acquired a 60% stake in Funky Monkeys Play for Rs 43.7 crore. This investment in Funky Monkeys Play is aimed to expand Nazara’s footprints into physical entertainment. Nazara also invested Rs 4.2 crores in LearnTube.ai, an AI-driven educational platform with over 20 lakh users, to improve gamified learning experiences. The rest of the Rs 148 crore has been allocated to existing subsidiaries, including Nodwin Gaming, Sportskeeda, and Datawrkz at Rs 64 crore, Rs 69 crore and Rs 15 crore, respectively. “These initiatives align with our vision of creating a diversified global gaming and entertainment platform,” said Nitish Mittersain, CEO, Nazara. Nazara continues to dominate India's esports landscape with back to back acquisitions through main and subsidiaries. Recently, Nazara-backed NODWIN Gaming acquired a gaming agency Trinity Gaming for $2.8 million. In October, Nazara' subsidiary Datawrkz acquired a 100% stake in UK-based Space & Time. It also invested Rs 982 crore in PokerBaazi’s parent Moonshine Technology and acquired stakes in e-sports companies such as Stan, Fusebox Games, Kiddopia’s developer Paper Boat Apps, Ultimate Teen Patti, and DeltiasGaming. Last month, the Mumbai-based firm also raised Rs 855 crore (approximately $100 million) through a preferential issue. Nazara’s revenue from operations reported a modest growth of 7.4% Q-o-Q to Rs 319 crore in Q2 FY25 with profits increasing only 2.4% to Rs 21.75 crore in the same period. Before the market closed on Monday, the company’s shares were trading at Rs 1,012, with a total market capitalization of Rs 7,747 crore (approximately $922 million).

With the help of revenue outpacing expense growth, the company managed to cut its losses by 41% to Rs 35 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 59 crore in Q1 FY25. However, the company reported a positive EBITDA of Rs 67 crore in the same period. Bluestone launched its initial public offering (IPO) in August 2025, with a price band set between Rs 492 and Rs 517 per share. The stock made its market debut on 19 August 2025 at Rs 510, reflecting a slight 1.3% discount from its issue price of Rs 517 and raised Rs 1,500 crore overall, which included Rs 693 crore garnered from anchor investors earlier that month. At the end of today’s trading session, Bluestone’s share traded at Rs 564, with a 1.4% increase in its share price. The company’s total market capitalization stood at Rs 8,534 crore (approx $1 billion).
