Microsoft teams with Khan Academy to make its AI tutor free for K-12 educators and will develop a Phi-3 math model

Microsoft has partnered with Khan Academy to showcase how AI can enhance education. As part of the collaboration, Microsoft will migrate Khan Academy's AI agent, Khanmigo, to its Azure OpenAI Service, granting free access to the bot for all US K-12 educators. The move will provide educators with personalized guidance in subjects such as math, science, coding, and writing, and aims to improve the efficiency of lesson planning and curriculum development. Additionally, Khan Academy will leverage Microsoft's Phi-3 model to enhance math tutoring and collaborate on generating high-quality learning content. The partnership will also enable the distribution of Khan Academy courses through Microsoft Copilot and Teams for Education.
