Mobility and energy solutions startup Matel has raised $4 million in its Series A round, led by Transition VC. The round also saw participation from Gruhas and Haresh Abichandani. Founded in 2017, Matel manufactures synchronous machines and motor controllers for e-mobility, industrial applications, agricultural pumping, and HVAC sector. Specialised in designing and manufacturing high-efficiency electric motors and controllers, it offers a full-stack powertrain solution to OEMs of EVs and the industrial sector. The startup offers application in all kinds of EVs including 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, 4-Wheelers, buses and off-road vehicles. It started the mass production of powertrains in April 2024 after receiving successful validation and certification by various EV OEMs. Later this year, it will start supplying products for traction and auxiliary application in the CV segment, which is in the 350V segment and up to 100 KW power. In addition, Matel will also start delivering products in 600V and 200 KW power range in FY26, which are currently under the design phase. Over the next two years, it Matel plans to foray into electric motors required in the defence sector. With an order book already in hand and firm plans for product portfolio expansion, Matel is looking forward to exceeding Rs 100 crore in annual sales by next year.

The proceeds will be allocated towards expanding production capacity and offerings, enhancing automation, ramping up hiring and broadening presence both in India and other global markets, IndiGrid Technology said in a press release. Co-founded in 2015 by Sameer Narang and Rishab Puri, IndiGrid Technology is a full stack electronics component manufacturer with in-house design and manufacturing capabilities. The electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM) startup makes battery packs, motor controllers, vehicle control units, components for EV drivetrains, among others. โ€œHaving matured in the automotive industry, we have diversified to increase our product portfolio by acting on the evidently growing market traction in the consumer goods sector where we began acquiring some key clients,โ€ said Sameer Narang, co-founder of IndiGrid Technology. The latest round comes more than a year after Cactus Partners led IndiGridโ€™s $5 million Series A round in June 2024. Since then, the company has diversified into consumer electronics and now also caters to companies like Hella, Rosenberger, Sensetek, Sandhar, IFB, Revolt, among others. IndiGrid reported a revenue of Rs 108.5 crore in the fiscal year 2024-25 (FY25) and it is targeting a top line of Rs 350 crore to Rs 380 crore in FY26. It claims to operate at high single-digit EBITDA margin and projects to clock double-digit EBITDA margin growth in the next couple of years.

Beyond Appliances raises $4 Mn in Series A round led by Fireside Ventures Smart kitchen technology company Beyond Appliances has secured $4 million in a Series A funding round led by Fireside Ventures along with participation from Dharana Capital. Prior to this, the Bengaluru-based startup raised $2 million in its seed round led by Fireside Venture in November 2024. The fresh funds will be deployed to scale its manufacturing capabilities, Beyond Appliances said in a press release. Co-founded in 2024 by Eshwar K Vikas and Rakesh Patil, Beyond Appliances allows users to access OTT apps, music, set reminders, and create grocery lists through integrated apps. The brandโ€™s product portfolio includes Android chimneys, plug-and-play chimneys, and smart hobs & cooktops. According to the company, it is witnessing strong repeat rates and consistent month-on-month growth, with its flagship kitchen appliance range continuing to be the primary revenue driver. The company claims to have doubled its revenues post its seed round in November 2024 and now aims to strengthen its core product categories while expanding into new appliance segments, supported by its upcoming manufacturing capacity. Beyond Appliancesโ€™ products are currently available via its D2C website, on Amazon and Flipkart, and through multiple retail outlets in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. The startup now plans to expand its retail footprint across Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Delhi through partnerships with leading offline retailers and modern trade outlets. It competes with other notable players in this space such as Faber, Elica, and Hafele.
