Swiggy has demonstrated strong financials ahead of its initial public offering (IPO). The Bengaluru-based firm reported a 36% jump in its operating revenue to Rs 11,247 crore in FY24, according to documents shared with its investors. Swiggy has also managed to reduce its losses by 44% to Rs 2,350 crore in the last fiscal year. The company’s revenue stood at Rs 5,476 crore in the first three quarters of FY24 with Rs 1,600 crore loss. It’s worth noting that these numbers aren’t audited. Swiggy said that its food delivery business grew 17% to Rs 6,100 crore while its quick commerce vertical Instamart registered Rs 1,100 crore gross revenue in the last fiscal year (FY24). When compared, Zomato’s overall revenue in FY24 jumped 71% to Rs 12,114 crore. This includes Rs 6,161 crore from the food business and Rs 2301 crore via the grocery business (Blinkit). Swiggy was neck and neck with Zomato in terms of food delivery whereas it was way behind in terms of grocery business. Unlike Swiggy, Zomato reported Rs 351 crore net profit in FY24 and the profitability also continued in the first quarter of FY25. For context, Blinkit had the highest market share among quick commerce players as of July, according to consulting firm USB. Swiggy Instamart was in second position followed by Zepto and BigBasket. Swiggy raised its last equity round in January 2022 when it also entered the decacorn club. Recently, it received strategic investments from Amitabh Bachchan Family’s office and Hindustan Composites. Swiggy reportedly filed IPO papers via a confidential route in May to raise up to Rs 3,750 crore ($450 million) via a fresh issue of equity shares and an offer for sale of up to an aggregate amount of Rs 6,664 crore ($800 million). The firm will soon file draft IPO papers with SEBI.

Logistics firm Ecom Express and coworking space provider Smartworks have secured approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for their initial public offerings (IPOs). Ecom Express, which filed its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) in August, aims to raise Rs 2,600 crore through its IPO. This includes a fresh equity issue of up to Rs 1,284.5 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) totaling Rs 1,315.5 crore. As part of the OFS, Partners Group will divest shares worth up to Rs 931 crore, while Warburg Pincus and BII (formerly CDC Group) will sell shares valued at Rs 211 crore and Rs 137 crore, respectively. This is the 13-year-old firm's second attempt at going public, after pausing its Rs 4,860 crore IPO plan approved in February 2022. In the logistics space, Delhivery and Blackbuck are already listed on the stock exchange, while Shadowfax is also gearing up for their IPOs. Smartworks, which also submitted its draft IPO papers in August, plans to raise funds through a fresh equity issue worth Rs 550 crore, alongside an offer for sale (OFS) of 67.49 lakh equity shares by its promoters. As of March 2024, Smartworks has a presence in as many as 13 cities, including Bengaluru, Kolkata, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, and Pune, with a portfolio of 41 centers spanning 8 million square feet. Smartworks will become the second firm, after Awfis, to get listed on the bourses. As per media reports, WeWork India, Simpliwork, Table Space firm, DevX, and Indiqube are also gearing up for their IPOs.

WestBridge Capital-backed IndiQube files DRHP for Rs 850 Cr IPO Workspace provider IndiQube has filed its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for an initial public offering (IPO). The IPO includes a fresh issue of equity shares worth Rs 750 crore (approximately $89 million) and an offer for sale (OFS) of equity shares amounting to Rs 100 crore. Co-founders Rishi Das and Meghna Agarwal will each sell shares worth Rs 50 crore through the OFS. Notably, no external shareholders are participating in the OFS, highlighting the founders' significant role in the offering. According to the DRHP, Anshuman Das is IndiQube's largest shareholder, holding 25.32%, followed by Aravali Investment Holding with 22.07%. Other notable shareholders include WestBridge Capital (5.79%), Carenet Technologies (5.15%), and Hirepro Consulting (2.15%). The company's co-founders, Rishi Das and Meghna Agarwal, cumulatively own 37.92% of the company. IndiQube plans to list its shares on both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The IPO will be managed by ICICI Securities Limited and JM Financial, who are acting as the book-running lead managers. According to the company, the net proceeds from the fresh issue will be utilized for the establishment of new centers, repayment of borrowings, and other general corporate purposes. In the first quarter of the ongoing fiscal year, IndiQube reported revenue of Rs 242 crore, while its losses stood at Rs 42 crore. The WestBridge Capital-backed firm achieved a 43% year-on-year growth in revenue, reaching Rs 830 crore in FY24, up from Rs 580 crore in FY23. However, the pursuit of growth came at a cost, with losses surging 72.2% to Rs 341 crore in FY24, compared to Rs 198 crore in FY23.
