MakeMyTrip posts $295 Mn revenue in Q3 FY26; profit down 74% Online travel booking (OTA) giant MakeMyTrip, which is listed on NASDAQ, has announced its financial results for the third quarter of the ongoing fiscal year ending December 31, 2026. The company’s profit decreased by 74% in the period. MakeMyTrip’s operating revenue increased by 11% to $295.7 million in Q3 FY26 from $267 million in Q3 FY25, as per its financial statements filed with NASDAQ. Hotels and packaging contributed 54% of the company’s revenue, which increased by 9.5% to $191 million in Q3 FY26, up from $147 million in Q3 FY25. Air ticketing accounted for 20% of the revenue, generating $60 million, while bus ticketing generated $37 million in the period. For the nine-month period, the company’s revenue increased by 8% to $794 million from $733 million, a year earlier. MakeMyTrip’s total expenses rose 18% to $289 million in Q3 FY26 from $244 million in Q3 FY25. Service cost accounted for 30% of the total, increasing 14% to $88 million in Q3 FY26. Finance cost, personal expense, and advertising were other major costs for MakeMyTrip in the last quarter. With the company’s expenses increasing more than revenue, MakeMyTrip’s profit decreased by 74% to $7 million in Q3 FY26 compared to $27 million in Q3 FY25. On a unit basis, the Gurugram-based company spent Rs 0.98 to earn a rupee of operating revenue during the last quarter.

The company reported a 31% growth in scale, while the company also increased its profit during the same period. Ixigo’s revenue from operations increased to Rs 317.6 crore in Q3 FY26 in contrast to Rs 242 crore in Q3 FY25, as per the firm’s unaudited financial results sourced from the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The Gurugram-based company generated the largest share (42%) of its operating revenue from train ticketing, which rose to Rs 134 crore in Q3 FY26 from Rs 120 crore in Q3 FY25. Flight and bus booking services contributed 32% and 24% to the company’s revenue, respectively. Besides operating revenue, the firm also earned Rs 16.5 crore via interest and gains from financial assets during the quarter which took its total income to Rs 334 crore in the quarter ending December 2025. Ixigo has not provided a detailed breakdown of expenses in its quarterly financial statements. However, employee benefits expenses rose by 15% YoY to Rs 45 crore. Overall, the company's total costs grew 32% to Rs 296 crore in Q3 FY26 compared to Rs 224 crore in Q3 FY25. Ixigo increased its profit by 55% to Rs 24 crore in Q3 FY26, as compared to a profit of Rs 15.5 crore in Q3 FY25. The company also approved the grant of 98,944 stock options under its ESOP scheme (2013, 2016, 2021). The ESOP is valued at around Rs 2.3 crore according to the company’s share price. The company’s competitor MakeMyTrip posted $295 million revenue in Q3 FY26 with its loss falling by 74% to $7 million in the period. At the close of trading on Thursday (Jan 22), Ixigo’s shares were priced at Rs 235, giving the online travel aggregator a market capitalization of Rs 10,320 crore (approximately $1.1 billion).

Foodtech and quick commerce platform Zomato on Thursday released its financial results for the third quarter of the ongoing fiscal year (Q3 FY24). The results showcase a decent growth in scale along with a 3.8X jump in profits. Zomato’s revenue from operations grew 15.4% to Rs 3,288 crore in Q3 FY24 in contrast to Rs 2,848 crore Q2 FY24, as per the firm’s consolidated financial results sourced from National Stock Exchange. Compared to the third quarter of the previous fiscal (Q3 FY23) year, its operating revenue went up by 68.8% from Rs 1,948 crore. Zomato operates several units including a food marketplace platform connecting end users, restaurants, and delivery personnel. Hyperpure provides farm-to-fork supplies to restaurants and businesses while Blinkit offers kirana, FMCG and other essentials within 10 minutes. Meanwhile, dining.out and Zomato Live let users discover restaurants, reserve tables, and book tickets for entertainment events. The firm made 51.8% of its total operating revenue via food ordering and delivery business, which grew 10.2% to Rs 1,704 crore in Q3 FY24 from Rs 1,546 crore in Q2 of the same financial year. Collections from its Hyperpure supplies (B2B business) increased 15.3% to Rs 859 crore during the same period while quick commerce vertical (Blinkit) contributed Rs 644 crore to the group’s coffers. The remaining income came from the ‘Going-out’ segment and other operating activities during the quarter ending December 2023. Additionally, Zomato also earned Rs 219 crore as non-operating income (mainly from interest and gains on financial assets) in Q3 FY24. As a result, its overall revenue crossed Rs 3,500 crore during the period. Coming to expenses, delivery and related charges accounted for 31.6% in Q3 which surged 16.2% to Rs 1,068 crore. Purchase of stock (after adjustment of changes in inventories) inclined 16% to Rs 782 crore while employee benefits cost remained flat at Rs 423 crore during the quarter. Zomato also spent Rs 374 crore on advertisement and promotions, akin to which its total expenditure rose 11.3% to Rs 3,383 crore in Q3 of FY24. On the lines of rising scale, Zomato’s profits also jumped 3.8X to Rs 138 crore in Q3 against Rs 36 crore in the previous quarter. Last year in the same quarter (Q3 FY23), it booked Rs 347 crore in losses. On a unit level, the company spent Rs 1.03 to earn a rupee in Q3 of FY24. For the nine months ended period (Apr-Dec 2024), Zomato recorded Rs 8,552 crore revenue from operations with a profit of Rs 176 crore. Zomato made its public market debut in July 2021 at a valuation of $12 billion and touched its peak of over Rs 150 per share in November 2021. Later, it dwindled under Rs 50 during July 2022. Zomato got its momentum back in Q1 of FY24 when it recorded profits for the first time. Since then, the company attained nearly 3X surge in its share price and its current share price stands around Rs 144 a piece.

Fintech firm Paytm announced its financial results for the third quarter of the current fiscal year (Q3 FY25) on Monday. The Noida-based company reported revenue of Rs 1,828 crore and a net loss of Rs 208 crore for the period. According to Paytm’s unaudited consolidated quarterly report filed with the National Stock Exchange, its revenue from operations declined by 35.9% year-on-year from Rs 2,850 crore in Q3 FY24 to Rs 1,828 crore in Q3 FY25. However, on a quarter-on-quarter basis, the firm recorded a 10% increase in revenue compared to Q2 FY25 (the preceding quarter). Income from payment service revenue accounted for 55% of the total operating revenue which stood at Rs 1,003 crore in Q3 FY25 while the revenue from financial and marketing services were recorded at Rs 502 crore and Rs 267 crore in the same period. The company also added Rs 189 crore from other non-operating sources, bringing its overall revenue to Rs 2016.5 crore in Q3 FY25. For the fintech firm, its employee benefits remained the largest cost center accounting for 34% of the overall cost which decreased by 36% to Rs 756 crore in Q3 FY25. This includes Rs 182 crore as ESOP cost (non-cash). Its payment processing charges and marketing costs were reduced by 42% and 48.7% to Rs 570 crore and Rs 141 crore respectively in Q3 FY25 from Rs 982 crore and Rs 275 crore in Q3 FY24. Software, communication, legal, cashback, and other overheads took the total expenditure to Rs 2,220 crore in Q3 FY25 from Rs 3,216 crore in Q3 FY24. A reduction across all overhead departments enabled Paytm to narrow its losses by 6.3% to Rs 208 crore in Q3 FY25 from Rs 222 crore in Q3 FY24.

The company reported a 26% year-on-year revenue growth compared to Q3 FY24, with a major turnaround in its bottom line. CarTrade’s revenue from operations surged 26.6% to Rs 176 crore in Q3 FY25 in contrast to Rs 139 crore in Q3 FY24, as per the firm’s unaudited consolidated financial results sourced from the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The Mumbai-based company operates in three segments: Consumer, Remarketing, and Classifieds. Income from the consumer segment formed 39% of the total operating revenue which increased to Rs 68 crore in Q3 FY25 from Rs 50 crore in Q3 FY25. Income from the remarketing and classified segment stood at Rs 58 crore and Rs 50 crore in the third quarter of the ongoing fiscal year. CarTrade also added Rs 17 crore from other non-operating businesses which tallied its overall revenue to Rs 193 crore in Q3 FY25, compared to Rs 152 crore in Q3 FY24. On the expense front, employee benefits expenses formed 53% of the overall spending which went up a modest 7.3% to Rs 73 crore during the period. This cost also includes share-based expenses of Rs 3.36 crore. CarTrade’s overall expenses increased 12% to Rs 140 crore in Q3 FY24 from Rs 125 crore during Q3 FY24. The strong growth and controlled spending enabled CarTrade to achieve a turnaround and post a net profit of Rs 45.5 crore in Q3 FY25, compared to a loss of Rs 23.5 crore in Q3 FY24. However, the company had already recorded a revenue of Rs 472 crore and a net profit of Rs 99 crore during the nine months of the ongoing fiscal year. CarTrade recorded a 4.78% hike in its share price today and is trading at Rs 1,433.3 (as of 12:47) with a total market capitalization of Rs 6,789 crore or $800 million.

Blackbuck has released its financial report for the third quarter of the ongoing financial year ending December 2025. The Bengaluru-based company reported a 51% year-on-year growth in scale in Q3 FY26 and posted a profit of Rs 32 crore in the quarter. Blackbuck's revenue from operations grew to Rs 172 crore in Q3 FY26 from Rs 114 crore in Q3 FY25. For the nine-month period, the company’s revenue increased by 53% to Rs 466.5 crore as compared to Rs 305 crore a year earlier. Revenue from its truck operator services was the primary source of revenue, accounting for 98% of total operating revenue. The company also made Rs 16 crore from interest income which took its overall revenue to Rs 188 crore in Q3 FY26, compared to Rs 123 crore in Q3 FY25. Looking at the expenses, the employee benefit cost accounted for 29% of the overall expenditure which increased by 16% year-on-year to Rs 40.5 crore in Q3 FY26 from Rs 35 crore in Q3 FY25. Depreciation and other operating expenses drove total expenditure to Rs 142 crore in Q3 FY26, compared to Rs 93 crore in the same quarter last year. Blackbuck registered a profit of Rs 32 crore in Q3 FY26, as compared to a loss of Rs 48 crore in Q3 FY25. On a quarterly basis, the company’s profit increased 10% from Rs 29 crore in Q2 FY26. BlackBuck's chairman and CEO, Rajesh Kumar Naidu Yabaji, sold 20 lakh shares (9.37% of his holding) in a Rs 135 crore bulk deal in the third quarter. This transaction reduced his stake in the logistics marketplace from 11.81% to 10.7% of the 18.07 crore total equity base. Currently, Blackbuck’s share price is trading at Rs 618, giving the company a market capitalization of Rs 11,196 crore ($1.2 billion).
