Mahadev betting syndicate resurfaces with new avatars, deepfake tactics

A dozen betting websites from the banned Mahadev syndicate have re-emerged with new internet addresses in different avatars. The banned URL Parimatch has become pari-match-bet.in, Lotus365 is now lotus365.co, and Fairplay has become fair-play.com.in or fairplay24.in. These websites are promoting their betting games through social media platforms like Instagram and YouTube, using deepfake videos featuring celebrities. The government's ban has had little impact as new URLs continue to surface. Experts recommend public-private partnerships to monitor and regulate online gambling and digital lending, as offshore operators find ways to circumvent bans.
