Media SaaS platform Frammer AI has raised $2 million in a seed funding round led by Lumikai. The fresh funds will be used for expansion into sports and entertainment, strengthen its tech team, and enhance data training in key focus areas, Frammer AI said in a press release. Co-founded in 2023 by Arijit Chatterjee and Kawaljit Singh Bedi, Frammer AI provides transcripts, captions, and creates short, platform specific videos like Insta Reels and YouTube Shorts. The platform offers an AI-powered studio that enables enterprises to convert their content into engaging and monetizable videos. Frammer AI claims that it is an enterprise-grade end-to-end platform that takes any premium content and makes it digital-ready with the click of a button. It works with large and medium-sized publishers across genres and provides features like news and lifestyle content which include webinars, corporate films etc. The Delhi-based company says that it leverages advanced AI technology and proprietary training methods to help businesses to produce ready-to-publish and high-quality videos for social media. It also says to convert a 30-minute video into 35 short packages in just five minutes. According to Frammer AI, it also trains vision models to detect people, faces, celebrities, logos, sentiment, and other similar visual elements in video frames. It has served clients in India and the United States, including prominent broadcasters such as The India Today Group and Zee News, as well as corporations such as ACKO Insurance.

Interactive spiritual-tech platform AskMyGuru has raised $1.2 million in a seed funding round led by interactive media and gaming VC fund Lumikai, which invested $800K, along with participation from MPL and select angels, including ex-Match Group Americas CEO Amarnath Thombre. The proceeds will be utilized to enhance the product roadmap, advance its proprietary Ved Vyas AI engine, and expand language support beyond English, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu, AskMyGuru said in a press release. The platform blends AI, gamification, and deeply researched Indic knowledge systems to shape a new genre of spiritual tech that is both culturally resonant and globally relevant. AskMyGuru aims to redefine the spiritual industry for the digital age while empowering gurus with sustainable income through the platform. It reimagines spiritual guidance as an immersive digital journey, creating meaningful connections through thoughtfully designed interactions. The startup embodies “Systems of Play,” i.e., products disrupting legacy industries with lean-forward, interactive, and gamified experiences. AskMyGuru also plans to deepen its domain expertise across financial, relationship, and career guidance. It may compete directly or indirectly with other platforms in this space, such as Astrosage and Astrotalk. Lumikai is an interactive media and gaming VC that invests in companies at the intersection of technology, culture, and new media. It has backed some of India’s leading interactive media companies, including Elo Elo, Bombay Play, All Star Games, Studio Sirah, Supernova, Autovrse, Vobble, and Mayhem Studios, amongst others.

Amagi, a cloud media SaaS technology firm, has announced the acquisition of Argoid AI, an AI company specializing in recommendation engines and programming automation for OTT platforms. By integrating Argoid AI’s advanced algorithms into Amagi’s existing platform, this acquisition will significantly boost the functionality of Amagi’s product suite, Amagi NOW and CLOUDPORT offerings. This will enable the media companies to make faster, smarter, and personalized content scheduling decisions at scale. With the acquisition, Argoid’s founders, Gokul Muralidharan, Soundararajan Velu, and Chackaravarthy E, will join the Amagi team. Argoid AI has developed innovative AI products that enhance content recommendations and enable real-time programming decisions. According to the company, its solutions have been pivotal in increasing viewer engagement and optimizing channel operations for customers in the streaming media space. Amagi has emerged as a rare comeback story in the B2B SaaS space. The company pivoted in 2018 from providing advertising solutions for local businesses on television channels to a SaaS-based monetization platform for TV networks and content owners. Amagi achieved unicorn status after securing $95 million in a new funding round led by existing investor Accel in March 2022 along with an additional $110 million in November. According to media reports, it was in discussions to raise $250 million in a forthcoming round. According to data intelligence platform, TheKredible, Amagi’s revenue from operations spiked to Rs 879.15 crore during the last fiscal year from Rs 680 crore in FY23.
