Karnataka wants to create 4-5 more Bengalurus: state IT minister

The state of Karnataka in India plans to establish 4-5 additional regions similar to Bengaluru, the country's thriving tech hub, according to Priyank Kharge, the minister for electronics and information technology and biotechnology. By positioning Karnataka as a destination for knowledge and skills, Kharge aims to foster innovation not just in India but globally. With over one-third of the country's tech talent, close to 25,000 startups, and several unicorns, Karnataka is a significant technology cluster and has the potential to supply well-trained talent to the industry. However, there is a need for increased investment in high-value research and the encouragement of a culture that accepts failure in research projects.
