Kapiva’s revenue from operations grew 50% to Rs 342 crore in FY25 from Rs 228 crore in FY24, according to its consolidated financial statements sourced from the Registrar of Companies (RoC). Founded in 2015, Kapiva is an ayurvedic nutrition brand offering natural and organic products in categories such as diabetes, hypertension, liver health, hormonal balance, wellness, energy, and sports nutrition. Sale of these products was the sole source of revenue for the company. Including non-operating income of Rs 7 crore, the company’s total income stood at Rs 349 crore in FY25. For the D2C brand, advertising and promotional expenditure remained the largest cost contributor, accounting for 45% of the total expense. This cost rose 53% to Rs 188 crore in FY25 from Rs 123 crore in FY24. Cost of materials consumed grew 43% to Rs 97 crore, contributing about 23% of overall costs, while employee benefit expenses increased 28% to Rs 59 crore. Transportation cost stood at Rs 22 crore, legal charges doubled to Rs 16 crore, and other overheads added another Rs 36 crore during the year. Overall, the company’s total expense rose 44% to Rs 418 crore in FY25 from Rs 290 crore in FY24. Kapiva’s net loss rose 23% to Rs 69 crore in FY25 from Rs 56 crore in FY24. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin stood at -51.41% and -20.88% respectively. On a unit level, the company spent Rs 1.22 to earn a rupee, better than Rs 1.27 it spent in FY24. The company recorded cash and bank balances of Rs 139 crore, while its current assets were valued at Rs 199 crore in the same period.

The commission earned from the banks on the disbursal of loans was the sole source of revenue for the firm. Including non-operating income of Rs 5 crore, BankBazaar’s total income stood at Rs 254 crore during FY25 from Rs 188 crore in the previous fiscal. In a media interview last year, BankBazaar CEO Adil Shetty said the company earned about Rs 210 crore in recurring revenue from co-branded credit card distribution and had refocused on credit card distribution and a subscription business for credit health monitoring. The financial statements of BankBazaar have not given a detailed breakdown of the expenses, as the company recorded Rs 165 crore under operating expenses, which makes 59% of the total expenses. This cost rose 65% to Rs 165 crore in FY25 from Rs 100 crore in FY24. Employee benefit expenses declined 8% to Rs 61 crore, while advertising spend remained flat at Rs 14 crore. Finance cost rose 40% to Rs 14 crore. Overall, total costs increased 29% to Rs 278 crore in FY25 from Rs 215 crore in FY24. BankBazar’s net loss decreased by 13% to Rs 23 crore in FY25 from Rs 26.5 crore in FY24. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin stood at -9.86% and -4.42%, respectively. On a unit level, BankBazaar spent Rs 1.12 to earn a rupee of operating revenue during FY25. The company’s current assets stood at Rs 140 crore including Rs 11 crore as cash and bank balances, during FY25. According to TheKredible, BankBazaar has raised a total of $133 million of funding to date, having Peak XV, Amazon and Walden International as its lead investors.

Home services marketplace Urban Company recorded a 38.2% year-on-year revenue growth to Rs 1,144 crore during the fiscal year ended March 2025 (FY25), according to its annual report. The company also swung to profitability in FY25 from a significant loss in FY24. Urban Company claims to have completed 6.8 million annual customer transactions across 17 super categories in 51 cities with a total net transaction value of Rs 3,115 crore (India+International). Urban Company offers a wide range of home services, including spa and salon treatments, AC repairs, electrical work, painting, wall panel installations, pest control, and more. It also generates revenue through the sale of its water purifier (native) and products sold to service professionals. Platform services continued to be the largest revenue driver for Urban Company, contributing 64.8% of its total operating income, which rose 32.5% to Rs 742 crore in FY25. Revenue from customer memberships grew marginally by 7.7% to Rs 98 crore. On the product sales front, the company saw a sharp 300% jump in revenue from its native water purifier, which surged to Rs 116 crore in FY25 from Rs 29 crore in FY24. The remaining Rs 188 crore came from product sales to service professionals. Of its total operating revenue, Rs 997 crore was generated from India, including the sale of water purifiers, while the remaining Rs 147 crore came from its international operations. It also added Rs 117 crore from interest and profits from the sale of mutual funds, which tallied the overall income to Rs 1,261 crore in FY25 from Rs 928 crore in FY24. Employee benefits emerged as the largest cost center for Urban Company in FY25, accounting for 28.6% of the total expenditure. This expense remained flat at Rs 350 crore, which includes a non-cash ESOP cost of Rs 72.5 crore. Spending on advertising and business promotion also held steady at Rs 207 crore during the year. Other cost heads, including materials, professional incentives, freight, payment gateway charges, outsourced support, and overheads, pushed the company’s total expenditure to Rs 1,223 crore in FY25, up from Rs 1,021 crore in FY24. According to its annual report, Urban Company’s India consumer services segment posted a profit of Rs 113 crore in FY25. However, its native water purifier vertical and international operations reported losses of Rs 38.7 crore and Rs 33.7 crore, respectively. The year-on-year growth, coupled with controlled expenditure, particularly in employee benefits and advertising, helped Urban Company to post a PBT (profit before tax) of Rs 28.5 crore in FY25, compared to a loss of Rs 92.7 crore in FY24. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin improved to a positive 2.46% and 6.68%, respectively, in FY25. On a unit level, it spent Rs 1.07 to earn a rupee of operating revenue. By the end of FY24, the company’s total current assets were recorded at Rs 1671 crore, with cash and bank balances of Rs 590 crore. Urban Company is set to launch its initial public offering (IPO). In April, the company filed its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to raise Rs 429 crore (approximately $50 million) through a fresh issue and an offer for sale (OFS) of Rs 1,471 crore. Urban Company, once enjoying a relatively uncontested market, is now facing growing competition from emerging startups such as Snabbit and Pronto. On the spending side, the cost of material accounted for 64% of the total expense. This cost rose 12% to Rs 589 crore in FY25 from Rs 527 crore in FY24. Employee benefit expenses declined 22% to Rs 79 crore, while advertising and promotional spends jumped 30% to Rs 43 crore during the year. Depreciation expenses climbed 41% to Rs 45 crore in FY25 from Rs 32 crore in FY24. Other overheads, including warranty claims, finance costs, and miscellaneous expenses, added another Rs 205 crore in FY25. Overall, total expenses increased 7% to Rs 918 crore in FY25 from Rs 857 crore in FY24. Ampere managed to cut its losses by 65% to Rs 240 crore in FY25 from Rs 691.5 crore in FY24. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin improved to -85.27% and -30.50%, respectively. On a unit basis, Ampere spent Rs 1.39 to earn every rupee of operating revenue during the year, marginally better than Rs 1.40 in FY24. As of March 2025, the company reported cash and bank balances of Rs 25 crore, while its current assets stood at Rs 263 crore. In terms of E2W sales for December, Greaves Electric Mobility retained its sixth position and sold 4,335 units with a market share of 4.66%. In comparison, the segment’s leader TVS sold 24,317 units with a market share of 26.14%. In December 2024, Ampere’s parent Greaves Electric filed its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) with the Security Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for an initial public offering (IPO) to raise funds through a fresh issue of equity shares aggregating up to Rs 1,000 crore (approximately $119 million) and an offer for sale (OFS) of up to 18.94 crore equity shares. On the cost side, OneCard’s total expenses grew 18% to Rs 2,206 crore in FY25 from Rs 1,866 crore in FY24. However, the company failed to disclose the majority of its expense breakdown, with 73% of its total expenditure being reported under miscellaneous expenses. Advertising and promotional spends saw a notable decline of nearly 40% to Rs 294 crore in FY25 from Rs 488 crore in FY24. Employee benefit expenses increased 26% to Rs 181.5 crore, while IT expenses rose 14% to Rs 67 crore. Finance costs almost doubled to Rs 18 crore during the year. With the company’s revenue outgrowing its expenses, OneCard’s loss decreased 26% to Rs 297.5 crore in FY25 from Rs 401 crore in FY24. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin stood at -41.03% and -15.71% respectively. On a unit basis, OneCard spent Rs 1.17 to earn Re 1 of operating revenue during FY25, better than Rs 1.31 in FY24. The company held cash and bank balances worth Rs 321 crore at the end of FY25 compared to Rs 447.5 crore a year earlier. Its current assets stood at Rs 907 crore in the same period. According to TheKredible, OneCard has raised over $270 million to date. The company is in the process of raising Rs 40 crore (approximately $4.5 million) in debt funding from existing investor Alteria Capital. Recently, OneCard came under the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) scrutiny, with the regulator reportedly asking its partner banks to halt the issuance of co-branded credit cards. The RBI is said to be seeking greater clarity on how data is shared between OneCard and its banking partners.

For PB Fintech, employee benefits cost remained the largest cost center forming 37% of the overall expenditure. This cost increased by 22.4% YoY to Rs 487 crore in Q3 FY25 from Rs 398 crore in Q3 FY24. This includes Rs 51 crore as ESOP expense (non-cash). The company’s spending on advertising and promotional grew 34% to Rs 289 crore. Its network, internet, legal, rent, and other overheads pushed its total expenditure to Rs 1,307 crore in Q3 FY25 from Rs 926 crore in Q3 FY24. The significant year-on-year growth helped PB Fintech to post a 94.6% surge in profits to Rs 72 crore in Q3 FY25 from Rs 37 crore in the third quarter of the previous fiscal year. On a unit level, the Gurugram-based firm spent Rs 1.01 to earn a rupee in Q3 FY25. In line with a 25% revenue surge, this cost grew 23% to Rs 4,309 crore in FY25. The firm cut its employee benefits by 13.8% to Rs 338 crore in the said year. Spinny’s direct cost stood at Rs 147 crore while its advertising and promotion costs reduced by 11.3% to Rs 125 crore in FY25. Other overheads, including information technology, legal, travelling, and rent, took the total cost to Rs 5,170 crore in FY25. The decent growth in its revenue helped Spinny to cut down its losses by 28.3% to Rs 423 crore in FY25 from Rs 590 crore in FY24. The company has also improved its per unit expense to revenue ratio in FY25, which was recorded at Rs 1.11. In March this year, the company closed $170 million round this year led by Accel Leaders Fund. According to startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, Spinny has raised around $676 million to date, including investors like Tiger Global, Accel, Elevation Capital, and others.
