According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Reliance Jio added 3.99 million wireless subscribers in December 2023, followed by Airtel with 1.85 million additions. Meanwhile, Vodafone Idea lost over 1.36 million subscribers, while BSNL and MTNL lost 150,000 and 4,420 subscribers, respectively. Overall, Indian telcos gained 4.32 million wireless users during the month, bringing the total number of active wireless subscribers in the country to 1.15 billion. Jio maintained the highest market share at 39.69%, followed by Airtel at 32.95%.

Overall, the telecom subscriber base slightly decreased to 1,205.17 million in July.
