Instagram gets a WhatsApp-like location sharing feature. Here's how it works

Instagram is introducing a location sharing feature in direct messages (DMs) which allows users to share their live location for up to an hour. The feature can be used to coordinate meeting spots or find friends in crowded places. The shared location is only visible to both parties and cannot be forwarded. Instagram is also adding the ability to add nicknames in DMs, which will only apply within the chat and won't change the username elsewhere on the platform. Additionally, 17 new sticker packs will be available in DMs. Currently, these features are available in select countries.
