India's data centres a $25 billion market opportunity over the next decade: Avendus

The data centre industry in India is set to undergo a significant transformation due to advancements in AI and the rollout of 5G. The demand for high-performance computing infrastructure, including GPU servers and AI-centric cloud solutions, is driving this growth. With the rise in AI companies and the need for high-density server racks, the demand for data centres is expected to increase. The generative AI market is projected to grow rapidly, resulting in a demand for around 500 MW of AI-enabled data centres in the next four years. Mumbai and Chennai currently lead in data centre capacity, with Delhi and Kolkata also contributing. The industry presents a lucrative opportunity for investors.
