India's computer market to grow 5.1% annually over next five years: report

According to a report by S&P Global Market Intelligence, the computer market in India is projected to grow by 5.1% annually over the next five years. The report states that India's imports of laptops have increased by 10.8% year over year, with Apple being the leading contributor. With the potential expansion of laptop assembly in India, there is a possibility of increased imports of computer components. The report suggests that the government may incentivize reshoring of component manufacturing and assembly by reintroducing rules limiting laptop imports in 2025. India's regulatory risks have lowered in recent years, making it an appealing location for reshoring electronics manufacturing.
