Indian companies likely to use existing AI models to leverage their data: Intel executive

Indian enterprises are predicted to witness the development of small and medium-sized AI models, along with a few large language models suitable for local contexts and usages. Santhosh Viswanathan, VP and Managing Director for the India region at Intel, stated that companies can augment existing models with their datasets, eliminating the need for huge, complex models. Viswanathan emphasized the importance of digitization and public-private partnerships to bridge the data versus server gap. He also highlighted Intel's interest in enabling the chip manufacturing ecosystem in India. A recent report suggests that AI spending in India will grow rapidly, reaching $5.1 billion by 2027.
