India among most active countries for Meta's Threads

Social media giant Meta has announced that its platform, Threads, has achieved over 175 million monthly active users globally, with India being one of the most active countries. Threads was launched as a rival to Twitter and has grown into a space where people feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and ideas. In India, popular topics on Threads include film, TV, OTT content, celebrities, and sports, particularly cricket. Meta also revealed that over 50 million topic tags have been created on Threads worldwide, and the app initially gained 100 million user sign-ups within a week of its launch. However, engagement metrics have declined since then.
