Here’s our first look at Apple’s in-the-box iPhone updating machine

Apple has reportedly developed a machine called Presto that allows its retail stores to update still-in-the-box iPhones. The device, as shown in a photo published by iGeneration, features two machines stacked on top of each other, with each machine having six slots to align different iPhone sizes. The machine uses wireless technologies such as MagSafe and NFC to turn on the phone, apply the update, and turn it off again. It is also connected to specific servers that can access software updates 24 hours ahead of general release.
