Here's how Microsoft is providing a 'good outcome' for Inflection AI VCs, as Reid Hoffman promised

Microsoft is reportedly paying around $650 million in a deal with Inflection AI. This includes $620 million for non-exclusive licensing fees and $30 million for Inflection to agree not to sue over Microsoft's poaching of co-founders and staff. Inflection's investors from the early $225 million round will receive 1.5 times their investment, while those from the later $1.3 billion round will get 1.1 times their investment. The new company resulting from the deal will focus on helping other companies work with large language model AI. Microsoft's move to acquire Inflection AI is seen as a strategic backup for its AI efforts and a way to mitigate dependent ties with OpenAI.
