Harvested Robotics raises seed round from Arali Ventures, Anand Mahindra, others

Harvested Robotics, an AI-driven laser weeding technology startup for tractors, has raised Rs 5 crore in a seed funding round led by Arali Ventures. The round also witnessed participation from Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra and Country Delight co-founder Chakradhar Gade. Harvested Robotics has raised a total of $21.8K over two funding rounds, with the latest round being a grant of $12K from Kerala Startup Mission in June 2024. The proceeds will be used for product development, building the team, and conducting pilots, Harvested Robotics said in a press release. Co-founded in 2023 by Rahul Arepaka and George Mathew, Harvested Robotics aims to provide farmers with a sustainable and a chemical-free alternative to traditional weed management. According to the Hyderabad-based company, its product is an AI-powered laser weeder that attaches to tractors. It uses cameras and AI models to detect weeds and robotic actuators with high-power lasers to burn them in real-time. The technology aspires to reduce costs for farmers, increase yields, and promote organic farming practices. It ensures precise weed removal without damaging crops. Harvested Roboticsโ€™s approach involves adaptable software and robotic hardware that can be attached to tractors and powered by them, offering a potentially affordable solution. The startup weeds out the hassles of high costs and labour those involved in current weed control methods.
