Google will soon roll out on-device AI-powered features on Pixel 8

Google has announced plans to introduce on-device AI-powered features, including recording summaries and smart replies, on its forthcoming Pixel 8 smartphone. These capabilities will utilise the Gemini Nano model and will be launched as a developer preview in the next Pixel feature drop. Previously, Gemini Nano-powered features were only available on the Pixel 8 Pro and Galaxy S24. Google aims to receive feedback and encourage innovation by expanding access to these features. The company has traditionally focused on cloud-based AI features for mobile devices. Additionally, the Circle to Search feature will be updated to support instant translation on more Pixel and Samsung devices.
