Google fights $17 billion UK lawsuit over adtech practices

Google's parent company, Alphabet, is facing a mass lawsuit that accuses it of abusing its dominance in the online advertising market. The lawsuit, seeking damages of up to £13.6 billion, claims that Google's anticompetitive behavior has caused losses to UK-based publishers of websites and apps. While Google argues that the case lacks coherence and fails to explain the alleged losses suffered by publishers, Ad Tech Collective Action insists that it is the latest in a series of cases highlighting Google's set-preferencing abuse. These proceedings come as regulators, including the European Commission, investigate Google's adtech business.
